Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Doctors are licensed, regulated primary care providers who concentrate on whole patient wellness. They diagnose, treat, and manage clients of all ages with acute and chronic conditions. Naturopathic Doctors promote health and disease prevention while addressing their client’s current health concern. They will look for the underlying cause of their client’s condition to effectively treat disease and dysfunction in the body.
Naturopathic Doctors use individualized, evidence-based natural therapies to restore and maintain their client’s optimal health. They may integrate tools such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Acupuncture, Cupping, Botanical medicine, lifestyle counselling and laboratory testing to help their clients achieve a healthier life.
To get a complete picture of your health and what is happening in your body, your Naturopathic Doctor my order routine or specialized laboratory testing. They may order standard blood tests such as complete blood count, nutritional deficiencies, lipid profile, diabetic markers HA1c, or more specialized blood tests such as a toxicity screen, food intolerance testing, allergy tests E(IgE) or hormone testing to name a few.
Your Naturopathic Doctor will work with your General Practitioner and other referring specialists to prioritize your health and deliver high quality care.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on therapy whose aim is to treat pain and dysfunctions in the body to restore the body’s natural self-healing capabilities and as a result optimize your health and wellness.
An Osteopathic Manual Practitioner will use techniques which address disorders and dysfunctions of the structure and function of the body and its related tissues such as bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, soft tissue, and organs or viscera.
Osteopathy applies the principles of manual therapy, craniosacral, anatomy, physiology, stretching, muscle energy techniques (MET) and strengthening to find the cause of their client’s pain and rid the body of imbalances to encourage the body’s self-healing capacity.
